Established in Guelph in 2019, Malamar Construction is owned and run by Dave and Gillian Cuthbert. We pair 35 years of hands-on trade craft with a genuine love of design — so every renovation is organized, professional and personal.

Gillian Cuthbert
With a background in banking, HR and investments, Gillian leads client liaison and the design and selections process — guiding homeowners through finishes, fixtures and cabinetry with a steady, considered eye. She serves on the community boards of Hope House Guelph and CCI Grand River.
Her focus: keep every project organized, communicative and calm, so clients enjoy the journey as much as the finished space.

Dave Cuthbert
Carpentry-trained in the UK, Dave brings 35 years in renovations, new builds and restorations to every Malamar site. He runs the builds on the ground — managing trades, quality and schedule so the work is done right and done cleanly.
His standard is simple: respect the home, respect the client, and leave every space better than we found it.
